First Time At A Community Theatre Show?
Good news: it's not stuffy. Community theater is for everybody, and you don't need to know a thing about theater to enjoy it.
Dress Code
Wear what's comfortable. Jeans are fine.
Tickets
Most local shows cost less than a movie and dinner. Buy online or at the door, but popular shows do sell out.
Arrive Early
Plan to get there 15 to 20 minutes before curtain to find parking and your seat.
Intermission
Most shows have a short break. It's a good time for concessions and the 50/50 raffle.
Kids
Look for "All Audiences" on the listing, or check the age guidance before you go.
Applause
Clap after songs and big scenes, and stay for the curtain call. At many local theaters, you can meet the cast in the lobby after the show.
